The Shakespeare Challenge

I am having such a blast with the rehearsals. Playing Bottom is indulging every bad actor habit I have ever had or seen or dreamed of. What a kick. And the rest of the cast is awesome. We are having a great time together. We try not to think too hard about the fact that in less than 30 days we will have actually performed the show. Hmn. Best not to think about that at all!

Fundraising is slow but I really am hoping that people are leaving things to the last minute. This is such a great cause. School kids' lives can truly be transformed by exposure to live theatre.

To my friends and family who have already contributed, you are wonderful and amazing - I can't thank you enough.

Okay, I had better go and memorize some more lines.

Just about to get started on the challenge and I could not be more excited. Not only do I get to work on a show I have tried to be in not once, not twice but three different times, I get to do it with a company I adore and for a cause that I truly believe in. Young people need to see live theatre. I get proof of that fact every time I have the opportunity to bring one of my classes to a Shakespeare in Action production. It lights them up and they talk about it the whole semester - many times even longer than that. Come on, friends, help me hit my goal and I will keep you updated on what's going on with rehearsals (only six of them GULP!!)
